Jason Aldean - My Kinda Party

Biography
For anyone looking to brand Jason Aldean as part of a significant musical movement, good luck.

There’s a lot about the singer that’s become familiar during his five years as a country hitmaker, after all, he has spent more weeks at No. one on the radio charts than any other country artist in the last 12 months. But none of what he does comes out quite like anyone else. The blues-tinged licks at the end of his phrases—there’s a ring of familiarity about them, but you can’t really link them to another artist. The smoky guitar riffs that have become a signature—they’re built on sounds that have come before, but they don’t really belong to anyone else in the country genre, either. The small-town themes that pervade many of his songs—that’s all been done before, but not quite with the unwavering honesty that Aldean applies to the subject.

Rihanna - Loud

Biography
No sooner had world-class megastar Rihanna wrapped up the final show of her sold-out “Last Girl On Earth Tour” in Chicago last week, than she turned her attention to her brand new fifth studio album on Def Jam Recordings. LOUD, set to arrive on November 16th, has been described by insiders as a return to the uptempo dance grooves of her earlier records.
Setting the scene for LOUD is the first lead single, “Only Girl (In the World),” which went to radio and clubs September 7th. The uptempo track is produced by Stargate, the Norwegian team whose career has been intertwined with Rihanna (and her fellow Def Jam hitmaker Ne-Yo) since 2006, including “Unfaithful,” “Don’t Stop the Music,” “Hate That I Love You” (featuring Ne-Yo), “Take a Bow,” and her most recent #1 global smash, “Rude Boy.”
Earlier this spring, the RIAA double-platinum “Rude Boy” (the fifth multi-platinum certified song of Rihanna’s career) hit #1 on a slew of charts - including Billboard’s Hot 100 and Hot 100 Airplay, and MediaBase’s Pop, Hot Dance Radio, Hot Dance Clubs, Rhythm, and Urban charts. With “Rude Boy”’s success, Rihanna became the first female artist of the past decade to chart six #1’s on the Hot 100 - and tied Madonna in first place with seven #1’s on the Hot Dance Airplay chart (launched in 2003).

Black Eyed Peas

Biography
In an era of an ever-changing music industry that's defined by diminishing expectation, where a "successful" career means having one, maybe two hit records; The Black Eyed Peas are a glorious exception. They have become one of the best selling, most popular and most innovative groups for over a decade. They have transformed themselves from a beloved backpack rap troop from the West Coast Underground into fully-fledged, massive global superstars whose music can be heard in any country around the world.
They've done this the right way: creating albums that are more innovative than the last; which has translated into each new album being more popular than the last. And in following this pattern, The Black Eyed Peas – will.i.am, Fergie, Taboo and apl.de.ap – are releasing their sixth full-length album, The Beginning.

Lucinda Williams - Blessed

Preview
Blessed, the stunning new album from three-time Grammy Award-winner Lucinda Williams is set for release on March 1st 2011 by Lost Highway. Considered by many to be one of America's greatest living songwriters, Williams lives up to that and more by delivering 12 new songs that cover an even wider emotional spectrum than her previous work, without moving too far in any one direction. Blessed opens with the gritty kiss-off "Buttercup" then moves seamlessly into the sultry blues of "Born To Be Loved". Williams delves into a heavier subject as she questions the motives for a suicide on the hard-driving "Seeing Black", which features blistering guitar from Elvis Costello. The thoughtful title track slowly builds to a melodic climax as it offers an eye-opening look at what's right in front of us, but too often unnoticed. The poignant and powerful "Soldier's Song" simultaneously tells a tragic story of the soldier overseas and his wife and child back home. On the gorgeous "Kiss Like Your Kiss", Williams lays down one of the most beautiful and fragile vocals she has ever recorded.

Pink - Greatest Hits... So Far!!!

Biography
With her distinctive short, pink hair, and a feisty girl power attitude, Alecia Moore's alternative moniker P!nk combines the rebellious and punky nature of her pop sound (and hair-do) with the femininity she frequently reasserts in strong terms.
Pink began her career at 14, singing in clubs around Philadelphia. She joined a band in high school, Middleground, which saw some popularity in her hometown, but it was as part of the R&B girl-group Choice that she was discovered by LaFace Records. After one album with Choice she was encouraged to go solo.
Pink's solo debut album, the R&B-flavoured Can't Take Me Home, was released in 2000. Although the album produced several hit songs ("There You Go", "Most Girls" and "You Make Me Sick"), it was not as well received critically or commercially as LaFace thought was possible. For her second album she enlisted the help of former 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry. M!ssundaztood was released in 2001, with the album title clearly suggesting that Pink was trying to redress any misunderstandings that might've emerged from the first album. M!ssundaztood showed a change to a rockier style, and was generally warmly received by critics. It was received even better by the public, selling over five million albums in the US and producing four hugely successful singles: "Get the Party Started", "Don't Let Me Get Me", "Just like a Pill" and "Family Portrait".
